Salvatore Esposito at Cinecì
Salvatore Esposito was a guest at Cinecì, which was held on September 13th at the Palazzo Aragonese in Palma Campania, where he received the Cinecì 25 CortiCulturalClassic Special Award for La cena perfetta.
Interviewed by artistic director Massimo Andrei, he spoke about the actor’s profession, art in general, and the Masters from whom, in his opinion, “You can learn even if they don’t speak.”
With his usual frankness, Salvatore touched on a recurring theme in the entertainment world: the tendency to pigeonhole actors into pre-established roles. Regarding the frequent assignment of “bad guy” roles, the actor was forthcoming: “This is a country that loves to stick labels on you and confine you to a single type of character, but I don’t agree. And I tell young people to not care.”
A direct and unfiltered message that perfectly captures his vision of the profession. According to the actor, true artistic freedom comes from refusing to bow to stereotypes, even when they seem to pave the way for easier success.
He also shared some anecdotes from the film “La cena perfetta,” which featured celebrity chef Antonino Cannavacciuolo, emphasizing the importance of maintaining and affirming one’s roots.
After watching a clip about his career, he received the award presented to him by presenter Ertilia Giordano, accompanied by warm applause from the audience, who once again showed their full support.
