Salvatore returns to Scampia
Salvatore Esposito returns to “his Scampia” for a moment of discussion and reflection with the medical students of Federico II. In fact, where there was once a sail, a brand new university center now stands which, like a bright beacon, turns on the lights of opportunity in a territory, that of north Naples, which loudly claims its thirst for redemption.
There are numerous considerations on social issues and not only that the actor dissects together with the boys and the inhabitants of the neighborhood during the focus, held in the late afternoon of Wednesday 05 April in the Aula Magna of the Federico II University Complex, in which they took part the magnificent rector of Federico II, Matteo Lorito, the delegate of the mayor of Naples for the Music and Audiovisual Industry, Ferdinando Tozzi and the president of the eighth municipality, Nicola Nardella. For a meeting, moderated by the journalist and writer Alessandro Iovino, which starts from the story of Salvatore Esposito, written and narrated in his three literary works – of which Marida Famiglietti reads some excerpts full of ideas – to arrive at opening a very interesting debate on the difficulties that the inhabitants of all those places considered “at risk” or out of sight face on a daily basis. Territories which, fortunately, have been actively paid attention to by the Frederick university for years, which after the birth of the San Giovanni a Teduccio University Complex in East Naples in October 2022 cut the ribbon of the new headquarters in Scampia, of culture and legality in the suburbs of the city, the same ones that have been the open-air film sets of the successful “Gomorrah” series for years.
Many positive examples were present at the meeting with Salvatore Esposito, testifying to the liveliness of a neighborhood that has always rolled up its sleeves alone in the face of difficulties. Among these it is impossible not to mention Antonella Leardi, the mother of the fan Ciro Esposito, who from the pain for the tragic disappearance of her son gave birth to the “Ciro Vive” association which has been fighting “against all types of violence” for years.
To remember it, gathering a thunderous applause from the whole assembly hall, was also the actor of Gomorra himself, as well as a super fan of Napoli, who invited all the Azzurri supporters to celebrate the imminent scudetto in a civil way because «maybe this victory we could also dedicate it to Ciro who I imagine would have been very happy»
